As a Community Foundation, we accept gifts to “wherever most needed” as well as specific projects and areas within the City, including, but not limited to:
  • Wherever most needed (grants requested and vetted through MTCF Unrestricted Fund)
  • Mequon Community Foundation Endowment
  • MT Trails Bike/Pedestrian Paths
  • Southern Ozaukee Fire and Emergency Medical Services Department (previously Mequon and Thiensville Fire Departments)
  • Mequon Police Department
  • Thiensville Police Department
  • Mequon PD K-9 Program
  • Mequon Parks Department
  • Village of Thiensville Parks Department
  • Jonathan Clark House Museum
  • Mequon-Thiensville Historical Society
  • Other area of your choice
Gifts of $5,000 or more can be pledged over a 3-5 year period. Gifts of $10,000 or more (now or in the future) make you eligible to join our Legacy Club. Click here to learn more about the Legacy Club.

You may make a gift safely and easily online at any time.

Your contribution will be credited to our General Fund unless otherwise indicated. Checks must be postmarked, or delivered in person, by December 31st in order to be eligible for a charitable deduction on income tax returns for that calendar year. Credit card gifts must be received by midnight on December 31 in order to be eligible for a charitable deduction on income tax returns for that calendar year.

In addition, the Mequon-Thiensville Community Foundation can receive a Charitable IRA Rollover. If you are interested in learning more about how you can donate all or a portion of your Required Minimum Distribution directly to the Foundation without declaring it as income, please contact your financial advisor or learn more here.

Bequests

The official bequest language for Mequon-Thiensville Community Foundation is "I, [name], of [city, state, zip], give, devise and bequeath to Mequon-Thiensville Community Foundation, Inc., located in Mequon, WI [written amount or percentage of the estate or description of property] for its unrestricted use and purpose."

While we understand some individuals prefer to remain anonymous, others like to be recognized in advance that they have named the Foundation as a beneficiary in their estate plans or of a life insurance policy. Endowment

The MTCF Endowment provides donors with an opportunity to create a lasting legacy and enhance the quality of life in Mequon and Thiensville for many years to come. As good stewards of the gifts we have received over the last 20 years, we will invest our endowment funds wisely to ensure that we remain able to support the programs, services and green spaces that are an important part of why we have chosen to live or work in Mequon and Thiensville.
